HHAF Distributed Major Grants Last YearHuber Heights Courier. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 The Huber Heights athletic Foundation conducted elections for their Board of Directors in their February meeting. Those now currently serving on the Executive Board are Larry Jameson as President, John Townsend as Vice President, and Chair person of the Bingo Committee and Finance Committee, Terri Frey as Secretary, and Bingo Committee and Volunteer Chair person, Vince Miller, Treasurer, and Finance Committee, and Joyce Searcy, Facilities Manager and Bingo Committee and Concessions Chair person. The additional Directors of the Board are Mike Svisco, Funds Accountability Chair person, Selena Crace, School Liaison and Finance Committee, Barry Kolano Special Events Chair person, Bingo Committee and Chair person for Bingo Callers. Also on the Board of Directors are Chad Lee, Chair person for Security Scheduling, Ronnie Redd, Chair person for the Hart Scholarship, Greg Johnson Assistant Facilities Manager and Finance Committee and Dave Johnson Chair person for Community Events. One of the Foundation objectives is to provide monetary support through grants to tax exempt organizations within the Community of Huber Heights. This past fiscal year (Nov 1, 2005 – Oct 32, 2006) the Foundation provided grants to the following organizations. Wayne Music Club $75,050, Huber Heights City Schools $65,748, Huber Heights YMCA $12,000, Scholarships $12,000, Southwestern Ohio Public Radio $8,200, Speak Spanish $7,500, HHYBL $3,750, Warrior Baseball $2,500, Campfire USA $2,500, Huber Heights Police Explorers $2,400, Angels of Sex Abuse $2,000, Youth Wrestling $800, Wayne Alumni Club $500, and over $1,400 to several other organizations. The HHAF is located at 5367 Fishburg Road. Their primary source of funds is derived from the game of bingo. The Foundation hosts bingo each Saturday and Sunday afternoon, at their facility on Fishburg from 1pm to 4pm. The Foundation utilizes volunteers to help conduct the game of bingo. These volunteers are given education credits which may be applied to the cost of school participation and/or book fees and other various school fees. Additionally, the Foundation can help tax exempt organizations, wanting to raise money that might be able to clean after bingo. In either case those individuals/organizations may want to contact the Foundation at 233-8618 from the hours of 9 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday.
